Access Road at Meadow Rise, Newbiggin Hall

Last night at Full Council, councillors debated plans to build an estate access road through a popular green space at Meadow Rise in Newbiggin Hall.

Reform UK stood firmly with the Meadow Rise campaigners throughout their fight to protect this valued green space from development.

We then took the fight into the Civic Centre, working to put local people and the future of Meadow Rise ahead of petty party politics. We successfully persuaded Green and Independent councillors to support the campaign.

And we won the vote!

Sadly, Labour and Liberal Democrat councillors voted against the motion.

This was about more than politics. It was about standing up for local residents and protecting the green spaces that matter to our communities.

Reform UK will continue to stand up for local people and fight to protect our communities.
